Our Story
It didn’t take long, but with my love of antique cars as rolling pieces of classical art as great as Clive’s, he and I were looking forward to the next car auction, networking with friends and puchasing our next favorite pre-war car. Soon one space turned into a second, then a third and finally a fourth. In a matter of a few years the Janet Cussler Car Collection was filled with automobiles dating from a 1902 Curved Dash Oldsmobile to our 2005 Lotus.

Janet met Clive Cussler in August of 2005 and married in 2008. They made their permanent residence in Paradise Valley, AZ. A noted collector of classic automobiles, Clive owned over 150 of examples of pre-war and 50’s convertibles. The collection now owned by his children is housed in the Cussler Museum in Arada, Colorado.

Being in Arizona full time Janet and Clive thought it would be fun to have a couple of drivers for around town. Although he already had his 1954 Jaguar 120 XK, a 1930 boattail Packard soon caught their attention.
With Christmas around the corner, Janet gave Clive a 1931 Ford Model A (he was born in 1931). Drawing on his hot rod youth, the Ford was modified with racing carborators and would be seen easily cruising the highways at 65 mph. The next year Clive returned the favor and gave Janet a 1955 MG TF1500 in her favorite color, red. One owner and all original, she still enjoys driving it in the perfect Arizona weather.

Janet’s love and appreciation of antique cars as rolling pieces of classical art was soon as great as Clive’s. They were always looking forward to the next car auction and networking with friends hunting for another favorite Brass Era or pre-war classic.

When Clive surprised Janet with a 1917 Ahrens Fox fire engine for her birthday, the need for warehouse space became apparent and the Janet Cussler Car Collection began. Today, the collection of over 40 cars, two airplanes and one firetruck are on display in four warehouse spaces.
With over 7500 square feet of event space located at 16055 N. Dial Blvd., Scottsdale, the collection is available for rental. It is not open to the public. Tours may be arranged by appointment only.
